Dr. Angela Lumba-Brown

Director, Stanford University Brain Performance Center

Angela Lumba-Brown, MD, is an academic physician-scientist with a focus on the interplay of the brain-body-spirit.  Her research in the field of neuroscience explores brain injury and its relationship to thought processing, sensory perception, and mental health.  Dr. Lumba-Brown cares for patients in the emergency department, where she strongly believes that healing is a whole-person approach.  She has received extensive formal training with the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism, several yoga and meditation centers, and recently embarked on a two-year immersion into mindfulness meditation with the Awareness Training Institute and Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkley. As a certified yoga instructor and meditation teacher, Dr. Lumba-Brown interconnects science and the soul.
